Level 2 Coaches Wanted! Virtual Sports Coaching (VIRSCO)

Local coaching providers VIRSCO are looking for enthusiastic individuals to help guide children through their physical education and extracurricular activities. They are looking for level 2 coaches in any sport, preferably with their own transport (not essential).

The role will involve leading and running physical education lessons, lunchtime and after school clubs. You will be required to lead coaching sessions, set up and clear away after every session, making sure that the area is safe and ready for the sessions to flow and run smoothly. As a coach you will make session plans for each of the sessions you are running, make sure that you are there on time and deliver quality sessions for the children in each of the schools. As a coach you should have excellent behaviour management skills and make sure the sessions are flowing and all the children are engaged in the activities.

Sports Attendant – Weekends, Priory Academy (Deadline: Oct 5th)

The Priory City of Lincoln Academy are seeking to appoint a Sport Attendant to support their Sports Centre team at the weekends. They invite applications from individuals with relevant experience or knowledge.

Hours of work: 11 hour shift within the period 6am to 8pm on Saturdays throughout the year, possibly alternating 6am to 5pm and 9am to 8pm. Additional weekend hours may be available on occasion.

Salary scale: SCP 11 (which equates to £4,521 pa for the hours quoted above).

Role summary:

1. Supervise the day-to-day use of all the Academy Sports Centre facilities, including their swimming pool and new 3G AGP.

2. Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Sports Centre facilities to an appropriate standard.

Part-time Multisports Coach, Hurricane Sports (deadline Sept 25)

Hurricane Sports are looking for paid part-time sports coaches to coach over a range of breakfast, lunchtime and afterschool clubs in primary schools in and around the Lincolnshire area.

Would You Like To Help Plan Our National Sports Roadshow?

In February 2016 we will be hosting another National Sports Roadshow, in collaboration with Careers in Sport. Last year’s event was a great success but we are keen to make the 2016 version even bigger and better. As part of that we want to make sure that the programme matches exactly what you – our students, from all of our programmes – would most appreciate. We would therefore like to establish a Student Steering Group to participate in the planning of presentations, activities and invitations to schools and sporting and health organisations.

The Steering Group’s work will mainly be undertaken in October, and it should not be too time consuming. The benefits of membership will be the experience of involvement in the organisation of a national event, the chance to tailor the day to the career interests of you and your fellow students, and the opportunity to network with relevant people and organisations.

It would be great to have representation from all of our programmes. If you would like to get involved, or would like to know more about the Steering Group or the Roadshow, please contact Sandy Willmott.

 

Gain Coaching Experience On Campus! (Bright Futures Education)

Bright Futures Education are looking for coaches to help them deliver PE classes at the University. Opportunities are available for students from any of our programmes to gain experience in coaching different sports to Year 10 to 13 students over a six-week period. These opportunities may arise throughout the school year, but please register your interest with Sandy Willmott as early as possible. For the first wave of places, please apply by 5pm on Friday 25th September.

Existing coaching qualifications and experience would be a plus but they are not essential. Applicants would need to show evidence of a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check . If you do not have one of these then it would be well worth applying now: it will allow you take advantage of many more opportunities.
