The University of Lincoln Sports Centre will be offering the following coaching courses this Spring:

Bocchia Teaching Award: February 7th, 10am – 4pm, £75

Tchoukball Level 1: February 15th, 9.30am – 1.30pm, £TBC

Football Level 1: February 25th to March 11th (multiple dates), £150

Basketball Level 1: March 21st/22nd, 9am – 5pm, £TBC

Netball Level 1: 26th April/22nd May, 9am – 6pm, £150 (England Netball members), £180 (others)

Fascial movement taping course from RockTape (Jan 8th/9th, 2016)

RockTape will be delivering two practical kinesiology taping seminars within the Human Performance Centre in the New Year on Friday 8th Jan (Fascial Movement Taping Level 1) and Saturday 9th Jan (Fascial Movement Taping Level 2), with 50% discount on the usual course fees for all students within the School of Sport & Exercise Science (so £72 per day). Students are welcome to book for both or one day but RockTape suggest only booking onto the FMT2 (Sat 9^th Jan) if you plan to complete/have enrolled onto the first day (FMT Level 1) or you have previously done a taping course. Prior massage/therapy qualifications of students (or lack of) is not an issue – all undergraduate students on previous courses have found it useful. If you are still unsure whether you would be suited to the course see the following document (Seminar_pre_read ), which gives some recommendations regarding further reading prior to attending a RockTape course. However, the practical part of the FMT1 day presumes that people have no previous taping experience so everyone starts in the same boat.

University of Lincoln School of Sport & Exercise Science students: if you put the code lincoln1 into the ‘coupon code’ box when paying for the course online it will reduce the fee by 50%, this will work for booking the one day course and both days. Level 1 Cricket Umpires Courses (Bracebridge or Market Deeping)

There will be two Level 1 cricket umpires courses in the county over the next few months:

1. Stamford Association of Cricket Officials are organising a three-session Level 1 Umpires Course for anyone who would like to become an umpire at the Market Deeping Cricket Club pavilion on Sunday 25^th October and 1^st and 8^th November 2015. Times are from 10.00am – 4.30pm each day.

2. Lincoln & District Cricket Umpires & Scorers Association are organising a four-session Level 1 Umpires Cousre for anyone who would like to become an umpire at the Bracebridge Heath Cricket Club Pavilion on Saturday 16th, 23rd and 30th January and Saturday 6th February 2016. Times are from 10.00am – 4.00pm each day.

Become a Squash & Racketball Activator! (Free training provided)

England Squash & Racketball are offering students a fantastic opportunity to be trained as a student activator. The training will cover skills that will help you organise, plan and deliver activities more effectively in any sport. Workshops will cover topics from practical facilitation of sessions to setting up online leagues etc. We have been invited to send up to four students, and you can attend training at a Squash Innovation Day in either Hull (on September 25th) or Derby (October 12th). Attendance is free of charge, but our places are limited to four so please contact Peter Fozard to apply for a place – or request more details – as soon as possible. His contact details are on the Innovation Day flyers.

This opportunity is open to any of our students, including those who started this month! There is no set criteria/skill level behind the type of person they are looking for, just a passion for getting more people actively involved in squash. You do not have to be a high level squash player, for instance.
