Student Partners Sought for School Projects!

The School of Sport and Exercise Science have 11 paid opportunities for students. The attached file (Paid Student Partner Project Adverts) displays the three different projects and opportunities for students to get involved in. If you are interested in any of the opportunities then all you need to do initially is to email the relevant member of staff by December 19th to provide an expression of interest or for further information.
 
The projects have successfully been awarded internal funding by the University and centre on the development of different aspects of student life and study. Each project has differing demands for the students involved and this is reflected in the remuneration provided for each project.

Health Promotions Coordinator, Chilterns MS Centre (Dec 18th)

Chilterns Multiple Sclerosis Centre are looking for a coordinator to take a lead role in the implementation, development and management of their Exercise Referral and Group Exercise Classes. here will be the opportunity to deliver classes and courses on top of 15 contracted hours per week, and there is scope for the position to grow from an initial 6-month contract to a permanent position.

Camp Counselors USA Visit to Lincoln (Thurs 10th November)

Camp Counselors USA are a company that sends students to work in the States for the summer teaching children sports, arts & crafts, water sports, performing arts, wilderness and many other skills! In addition to the opportunities and experiences you get from the camps themselves, you also receive 30 days after camp to travel the USA.

Representatives from Camp Counselors will give an information talk at 5PM on Thursday 10th November in Meeting Room 1 in the Enterprise Building at the University of Lincoln.

School of Sport & Exercise Science Opportunities Fair (Nov 22nd)

The School is delighted to be hosting an inaugural Opportunities Fair on Tuesday 22nd November, starting at 5pm in the Human Performance Centre. The event will give students the chance to meet a range of local organisations offering voluntary and/or paid opportunities in areas relating to sport, exercise, health and outdoor activities.

Confirmed attendees include Lincolnshire Sport, Lincolnshire FA, Lincolnshire Youth Association, University of Lincoln Sports Centre, Lincolnshire Scouts, Lincolnshire YMCA, UoL Careers Team, Lincoln SU Activities and Volunteering Office (Keep checking back – we’re waiting for confirmation from more organisations!)

Challenger Sports North American Soccer Camps (Summer 2017)

Challenger Sports are recruiting coaches to work in the USA and Canada in summer 2017. They are looking for coaches who are energetic, enthusiastic, have experience with coaching, self starters who love soccer and are keen to experience the excitement of travelling and working overseas which will also add experience and qualifications to their CVs.

Challenger Sports have been involved in the Soccer Camp industry for over 25 years and will employ over 1,300 British soccer coaches to coach over 240,000 boys and girls on soccer camps in over 3,600 locations for summer 2017. The company offers a structured career path for any individual interested in working and living in the USA. This starts with their Summer Camp season which lasts from six to twelve weeks each summer.

Coaches then have an opportunity to work for three to nine months on their Challenger Soccer Academy program. From the ranks of our summer and Challenger Soccer Academy Programs they select potential full time staff to work as Regional Director’s overseeing their British Soccer Camps or work within their Challenger Teamwear Divisions. There are also opportunities to work closer to home with their Challenger Sports UK Franchise program.

They will be holding a Midlands-area Recruitment Day at Loughborough University on 27th November. (The day will involve a 12 minute coaching assessment followed by personal interviews.)
