College of Social Science Employability Bootcamp (May 30th/31st)

All third years and Masters students are invited to the College’s Employability Bootcamp on May 30th and 31st.

The aim of the conference is to allow you to pick up some extra skills to enhance your CV and support you in the best way possible before you go on to work or further study. You can attend as many sessions as you want – attending the whole conference or just those sessions you feel would benefit you the most.

Opportunities at the Student Engagement Hub

A number of openings are available for getting involved at the Student Engagement Hub:

1. Student Recruiters – be a part of the interview process for hiring new staff.

2. Student & Staff Insight Team – shadow members of the University’s Executive Board!

3. Students Consulting on Teaching – two students from Sport & Exercise Science are being sought to provide feedback to lecturers on their sessions.

Any of these positions will allow you to contribute to the university’s development, gain valuable experience and boost your employability!

Careers in Sport Development talk (Monday 3rd March)

We are very pleased to welcome two of the School’s graduates back to talk about their work in sports development:

Fiona Houghton: an SDC graduate and Sports Development Officer at Newark & Sherwood District Council

Leanne Woodhead: an SES graduate and Football Development Officer at Lincolnshire FA.

Both speakers will share their experiences of working in sports development, talk about their current initiatives and offer advice about careers in sports development and how you can improve your employment prospects. Their presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.

The event will be on Monday 3rd March and will start at 5.30pm in the Coach Education Suite. All are welcome and there is no need to book in advance.
