The Volunteering Office have details of the following local volunteering roles:

Run for All Event Support (April 16th/17th)

Assistant to Disability Games Team (April 17th)

England Athletics will be running a one-day Leadership Training course in Lincoln on Saturday 17th October. The course qualifies and insures leaders to deliver safe and fun running sessions, and would be suitable for running club leaders and other group leaders.

When: October 17th, 09:00-17:00

Where: Lincolnshire County Sports Partnership, Ingham, Lincoln

Cost: £155 (club discount £135)

One Step Beyond, who run events such as the Outlaw Triathlon, the Triathlon Relays and the Cambridge Half Marathon, are looking for a Communications Co-ordinator.

Based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, the role’s primary objectives include raising the company’s profile in the triathlon and running marketplace and increasing race entries across their portfolio of events. There will be a requirement to attend events, exhibitions, trade shows and to visit partners.

Just to let you know that Lincoln Parkrun is due to start on Saturday November 16th. Parkrun’s are a free, timed 5k run organised every week. So there are none of the hefty fees you often see with organised running events. Each run will be held at 9am in Boultham Park, Lincoln.

Parkruns have become incredibly popular up and down the country but the success is reliant on a band of volunteers. Volunteers can help in a number of ways (marshalling, operating the timer, etc.) and offer a good chance to experience event management and organisation.
