//England Athletics will be running a one-day Leadership Training course in Lincoln on Saturday 17th October. The course qualifies and insures leaders to deliver safe and fun running sessions, and would be suitable for running club leaders and other group leaders.

//Lincolnshire Sport support coaches and officials in many ways. Some of these are:
(1) The Lincolnshire Coach and Instructor Network: a free support network that will provide access to information, training events and bursaries. Join now!
(2) Officiating Bursaries: open to anyone who is interested in obtaining officiating qualifications. Deadline: September 30th 2015.
(3) HE/FE Coaching Bursaries: open to students who are interested in getting started with coaching. Applications open on October 1st 2015 and close on November 2nd 2015.
(2) Talented Coaches Scheme: receive extensive training, support and networking to help you develop your coaching experience and skills. many of these events are hosted within our School – as you can see from the photo here – and we had a student in the 2015 cohort. Applications for the 2016 cohort will be open in December 2015.

//A reminder for those interested in gaining a sports massage qualification that is recognised nationally by a Government-approved awarding body (Vocational Training Charitable Trust, VTCT) – a 7-day course will be running at the University between May 26th-29th (4 days) and then August 24th-26th (3 days).
The content of this Level 3 qualification is comprised of all the required elements needed to work effectively and efficiently as a sports massage therapist. This includes the practical application of anatomical and physiologal knowledge, key elements of professional practice, an understanding of the principles of health and fitness and how to provide sports massage treatments. Following successful completion of the course, the Level 3 sports massage therapist will be able to work safely and effectively on dysfunctional tissue in a range of context, to include, pre-event, post event, intra-event and for maintenance purposes. Indeed, those students who completed the course last year have since gained valuable experience working in a range of sporting environments, including mass participation ultra-endurance events and professional football clubs.
The cost of the course will be £600, with a deposit of £300 to paid by the end of April (one month before start date). As such, the course providers (Sporting Therapy) can facilitate instalments for those who can’t pay the full cost on immediately, so as to spread the cost across a further 3 x £100 payments for May, June and July.
