Multiple Sports Volunteering Opportunities Available

The University’s Volunteering Office have a number of exciting sports-related voluntary opportunities. These positions include the following:

  • Positive Futures Sport Leaders
  • Lincoln City FC Sport & Education Trust Youth Leaders
  • Lincoln City FC Academy performance analysts and S&C coaches

Volunteers, Lincoln City Community Football Festival (April 25th)

On Saturday 25th April a football festival will be held at Lincoln City Football Club for community groups, supplementary schools and parents to bring children along for a fun football day.

The day will run from 12. 30pm until 5pm and volunteers may be required from 12pm onwards. Participants will range from 7 years old up to 16 years old.

Volunteers would be required to help with the organising of the day, officiating of matches and also stewarding and directing children to their next station.

Sports Therapist/Physio, Nettleham Ladies FC

An opportunity has arisen to work with Nettleham Ladies FC as a sports therapist\ physio for match and training days (Thursday evening and Sunday). This would be an excellent opportunity for someone to gain experience and develop their skills in a supportive environment.

A first aid qualification is essential.

Barnsley F.C. Academy – Performance Analysis Paid Intern

Barnsley F.C. Academy are looking for a full time, highly motivated and enthusiastic performance analyst graduate for filming, coding and data analysis of U21 and U18 games, providing reports and statistics to the appropriate coaching and support staff. The successful candidate will be required to engage with other P.A. interns in regard to the support delivered to the remaining age groups throughout the clubs Academy (U9-U21).

FA Level 1 Coaching Award (January 2015)

The University Sports Centre will be hosting a UKCC FA Level 1 Coaching Award course in January 2015, with the course dates as follows:

Friday 9th, 6pm – 8pm (Classroom based)

Sunday 11th, 10am – 5pm (Practical)

Tuesday 13th, 6pm – 9pm (Classroom based)

Thursday 15th, 6pm – 9pm (Classroom based)

Sunday 18th, 10am – 5pm (Practical)

Sunday 25th, 10am – 5pm (Assessment)

FA Level 1

 

There are two free places available on this course. If you would like to be considered for one of the free places you need to email our Higher Education Football Officer Sophie Bartup (12286501@students.lincoln.ac.uk) and in 300 – 400 words describe the following:

  • Your coaching Background
  • What you aim to gain from the course
  • What you plan to do with the award within the next 6 – 8 months

The deadline for those free of charge places is 5pm on Wednesday 22nd October. Successful applicants will be notified Friday morning (25th).

To book onto the course you need to take your student card to the Sports Centre reception.
