Bursaries for FA Level 1 Futsal Coaching Course (April 2nd, 9th)

An FA Level One futsal coaching course is scheduled to be delivered at the University’s Sports Centre on Sundays 2nd and 9th of April, 2017 (10:00am – 1:30pm both days). Lincolnshire FA have kindly offered four 50% bursaries for UoL sports students to apply for in order to attend the course. This means that instead of paying the usual £50 course registration cost, you would only need to pay £25 for registration.

To apply for one of these bursaries, all you need to do is answer the following two questions:

1) How would the community benefit from you becoming an accredited level one futsal coach?
2) How will a level one coaching futsal qualification help your own career and personal development?

Please keep answers to a maximum of 350 words for each question and send your application to Alex Blackett via email (ablackett@lincoln.ac.uk) before 5pm on Wednesday 8th March, 2017 (Extended deadline)

Please also include in your application the following:

Full name, DOB, Address (where you would like your certificate sent to), Phone & Email. If you have an FA number (FAN) please include this as well. If you do not have a FAN then Lincolnshire FA will set one up for you should you be successful in your application.

Successful candidates will be notified by Friday 10th March, 2017. Your application confirms that you will be able to attend both scheduled sessions as attendance of these is mandatory to receive the qualification. The full £50 registration fee will need to be paid should you receive the bursary but not attend the course (without a legitimate reason).

All Stars Cricket Activators, Summer 2017 (deadline extended)

The University of Lincoln is one of 19 around the country to be involved with providing student activators for the new All Stars Cricket initiative from the ECB, “a nationwide programme that is designed to inspire five- to eight-year-olds to take up cricket and provide a great first experience of the game.”

Activators will receive full training and other benefits and will be matched up with a club for the sessions, which will run at locations across the country for about eight weeks between May and September. The programme has been designed with the flexibility to undertake your training and/or delivery either close to the University or your home.

Every All Stars Cricket Activator (Action Hero!), will receive training and will be signposted to a local club, which has everything you need to ensure a great first experience for kids and their parents. All Stars Cricket will give kids all the skills to play the game and directly connect them to the heroes of the men’s and women’s England team. An explanatory video can be viewed here.
All sessions are planned to run for approximately 8 weeks, between May and September across the whole of the country, meaning you can choose to support sessions either at home or at University, whichever works best for you!

Students interested in registering for the scheme can sign up here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ASCActionHero
