Coach at a Summer School in Italy (June 9th to 16th)

The English Theatre of Europe have recently had a position come available for a sports coach during their summer school in Italy from 9th – 16th June.

The sports coach will be teaching sporting terminology in English, and coaching the children through various sporting activities. Italian language skills are not essential. Two of our students have had a very positive experience at these summer schools in the past.

It is paid at national minimum wage, all flights to and from Italy are paid for, travel to and from work in Italy, Accommodation is provided with a host family who will provide three meals per day.

They are looking for someone with the following:

  •  Coaching experience with young children aged between 5-13yrs old.
  • First aid qualification
  • DBS check – or willing to undergo a criminal record check
  • Must be 20 years +
  • Must be happy working in heat (no aircon)
  • Must have a fun outgoing personality.

FA Coaching Disabled Footballers Course (June 2nd, 2018)

FA Coaching Disabled Footballers Course

Time: 9am-5pm
Cost: £50 | £45 (Charter Standard Development / Club member) | £40 (Charter Standard Community Club member / FA Licensed Coach)
Pre-requisite: FA Level 1 Coaching in Football Qualification

The course is six hours and covers both theory and practical elements and by the end of the workshop each participant should be able to meet the following outcomes:

• Apply and extend your existing coaching skills and experience to meet the needs of players with a range of impairments
• Establish basic communication skills for coaching disabled footballers
• Use appropriate terminology
• Identify appropriate safety and medical considerations
• Plan a wide range of coaching sessions for disabled footballers
• Using the Inclusion Spectrum, plan your coaching sessions to include disabled players or provide alternative appropriate opportunities
• Understand the player pathways available for disabled players including the appropriate structure for competition.
Practical Involvement: Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning (This however will not prevent successful completion of the award).

Fitness Instructor, Priory Academy LSST (deadline: 14th May)

The Priory Academy LSST are seeking to appoint a fitness instructor to work as part of the health and fitness team at the Academy.  The role will include planning and implementing fitness class programmes, inducting new members and overseeing the health and fitness suite.

Hours:15 hours per week / term time only (38 weeks)
Hours of work will consist of midweek sessions 3-6pm. Weekend hours may be available also.

Salary: SCP14 – £16,781 pa pro rata £5,620 pa
Role: Permanent

The ideal candidate should hold at least the Level 2 Fitness Instructors award (but class instruction qualifications are not needed).  In addition it is desirable that health and fitness related qualifications are held.

Applicants should have a sound knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Word, Outlook and Excel, and should demonstrate a genuine interest in a career in the health and fitness industry.

The successful candidate will report to the Group Manager Staff Risk and will be responsible for maintaining a fitness testing regime enabling staff to successfully fulfil the contractual obligations of their role providing support and advice to staff in relation to maintaining fitness levels as appropriate.

Sports Coach, Hawthorns Primary School, Wokingham (from Sep 2018)

The Hawthorns Primary School in Wokingham, Berkshire are recruiting a qualified Sports Coach to provide PE lessons as part of non-contact cover for teachers and to run lunchtime Sports Clubs and Breakfast/After School Clubs. The role will be for 19 hours per week, and will start in September.
