Level 2 Sports Coaches Sought by VIRSCO (Virtual Sports Coaching)

Lincoln-based sports coaching company VIRSCO are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who will bring their sporting attributes and knowledge and help guide children through their physical education and extracurricular activities.They are looking for level 2 coaches in any sport, preferably with their own transport (not essential).

The role will involve leading and running physical education lessons, lunchtime and after school clubs. You will be required to lead coaching sessions, set up and clear away after every session, making sure that the area is safe and ready for the sessions to flow and run smoothly. As a coach you will make session plans for each of the sessions you are running, make sure that you are there on time and deliver quality sessions for the children in each of the schools. As a coach you will have excellent behaviour management skills and make sure the sessions are flowing and all the children are engaged in the activities.

School Sports Coaches Wanted From Sept., Synergy Sports Coaching

Synergy Sports Coaching are one of the leading physical education and sports coaching providers for primary schools within the county, engaging with over 3,000 children per week.

Synergy Sports Coaching deliver over 20 different sports including football, gymnastics, fencing, tag rugby, dance, handball and basketball.

Due to continued success they are looking for professional, enthusiastic and passionate sports coaches who are comfortable in leading sessions. Several positions are available from September and they would particularly suit Year 1 and 2 students. Synergy Sports Coaching set the highest standards for operating and therefore coaches must be organised, thorough and responsible.

Coaches would be required to deliver before, lunch and after school clubs while also assisting lead coaches within the deliver of curriculum sessions to young children throughout primary schools within the Lincoln area.

Coaches will require the following:

Qualifications (preferential but not essential) :

– A National Governing Body (NGB) coaching Level 1 or 2 award in a chosen sport
– Additional coaching awards
– DBS cleared (This is organised via the company)
– Safeguarding Certificate
– Emergency 1st Aid

Working hours will be part time initially.

Multi-Sports Coach, Loughborough College (Deadline: Feb 4th)

Loughborough College are seeking highly committed, motivated and organised individuals to work across their sport department.

Successful candidates will be required to coach physical activity sessions within their new ‘MyLifestyle FE’ programme; part of the Active Colleges programme funded by Sport England that aims to increase participation and physical activity levels of all Further Education students.

Applicants must be qualified to lead sessions unsupervised.

Lincolnshire Sport Talented Coaches Scheme (Deadline: 16th Feb)

Lincolnshire Sport have launched their Talented Coaches Scheme, which looks to support coaches through a tailored support programme and informative, needs-led personal development workshops.

Coaches will be supported over a twelve month period to develop knowledge, experience and skills specific to their current roles and in support of future coaching goals.

There will be a core programme of workshops and training delivered by expert tutors and coaches from different sporting organisations around the county.

Coaches will also have the opportunity to pair with a mentor and potentially view live coaching sessions. Through the programme coaches will also have the opportunity to be supported towards their next level of coaching qualification.

Basketball Level 2 Course (March, May, June 2015)

The University Sports Centre will be running an England Basketball Level 2 course between March and June, as follows:

Dates: 30th & 31st March, 29th May & 3rd June. 9am – 5pm on all four days.

Price: £145

Booking deadline: 9th March, 8pm

Note: As a Level 2 course, a qualification indicating that the coach is proficient to go out and lead a team by themselves, it will involve more ‘extra-curricular’ work. The course does require candidates to coach a team for one session and coach a game (the game does not have to set fixture it can be a training match); these two sessions must be over seen by either another Level 2 qualified coach or a P.E. teacher.
