England Golf are inviting applications for a Get into Golf Engagement Officer providing support to the Participation & Club Support department.  This would be an approximately 6 month contract (April to October 2016), and applications can be from an individual or company.

This work has been identified as involving access to vulnerable adults and/or children and in line with England Golf policy successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service Disclosure Check and must also have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course (SPC) or be willing to undertake one.

General Manager, Brough Golf Club (Deadline: 26th July)

Brough Golf Club, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, are looking to appoint a new General Manager. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a proven record of golf club management, will be ideally educated to graduate level or have relevant industry or sector experience.
  • Manage and continuously develop all aspects of the golf business and develop the strategic plan alongside the General Committee and Captain.
  • Monitor and analyse operating budgets to ensure efficient and profitable financial management across all areas.
  • Identify new and imaginative sales and marketing opportunities.
  • Empower, manage and motivate a small but focused team.

This is a permanent full time position and the salary will reflect the experience of the successful candidate in line with industry standards.

England Golf Paid Internship (April to September 2015)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support England Golf‘s Championship and Performance departments in an administration role. This is a paid 6-month placement from April to September.

The Championship department runs national championships, scratch events and a wide range of handicap competitions for players of all ages and abilities.

The Performance department manages the National Squad Performance Programme with the aim of developing English golfers through a comprehensive support system and competitive play at a wide variety of tournaments in different conditions.

The Office Administrator (Intern) position will support the administration in both departments and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

  • Reliable data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Competence in the use of IT tools including spreadsheets, email and word processing
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Knowledge of the game of golf is not essential.

The post is full-time (Monday – Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm core hours) and is based at England Golf Headquarters, The National Golf Centre, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire.

Salary Band 1 (£11,700 – £14,300 per annum, pro rata)

Volunteer Coach for Golf Xtreme, Lincoln (July 7th and 14th)

A volunteer coach is sought to  deliver two Golf Xtreme sessions to young people aged 11-16. These sessions are based at an academy within Lincoln on Monday 7th July and Monday 14th July between 2.30-3.30 pm (with a little time to set up and pack away). If interested, there is also the potential to do further coaching.

You do not need specific golf coaching qualifications, but experience of coaching sport/leadership is preferable. Experience of golf is desirable but not essential as all training and guidance required to deliver the sessions will be given.
