Over the upcoming school half-term holidays, Canwick Park Golf Club are offering Tri-Golf taster sessions to children aged 7-11 years. The sessions will encourage children to participate in physical activity through golf, being offered an opportunity to try golf in a safe and secure environment, introducing children to the golf club environment, in addition to being provided introductory coaching with Canwick Park’s Junior Coach, George Wilkinson.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

It is very difficult to run events such as this without the help of volunteers. Therefore, we send this e-mail, to ask if anybody is able and willing to come and help at any of the days. Whether that be part of one of the days, the whole of the session or all of the dates listed, your help would be greatly appreciated! You don’t need to have any experience of coaching or participating in golf, but if you have some experience of working with children, coaching or leadership or if you have helped run events before, it would be advantageous.

The dates of the sessions are as follows: 9th April,  10th April, 16th April,  17th April, 28th May, 29th May.

As I’m sure you will be aware, voluntary experience is always great to put on your CV.  If you are interested in helping with the programme or would like any further information, please contact Kevin Leigh, Club Manager by telephone on 01522 542912 or via e-mail at manager@canwickpark.co.uk

Student Engagement Research/Project Assistants (Deadline 7 April)

The Student Engagement Team are looking to recruit two of our current students to work with us part-time over the next year as our workload grows. The Student Engagement Team primarily supports staff across the University to improve the quality of what they do by working in partnership with students. We also coordinate some of the University’s student surveys and pilot innovative ways of getting students involved across departments, like being on interview panels for new staff.

These new Research & Projects Assistant posts (we have two available) will provide the Student Engagement Team (currently 3 people, soon to be 4 + these 2 roles) with administrative support and will be directly involved in researching the views and practice of our staff and students. The roles will have an interesting mix of desk based analysis and people-facing interaction in them and we can play to the strengths of the successful candidates.

As a team made up of Lincoln graduates, we know the pressures of student life and can be flexible around teaching and other commitments. The hours equate to one day per week in term time (which can be worked across several days in small chunks if needed) plus we have extra hours we can use during busier parts of the year.

If you would like to apply, please send your CV and a covering letter – outlining how you meet the criteria in the person specification and what you could bring to the team – to dderricott@lincoln.ac.uk by 9:00am on Monday 7th April 2014.

If you have any questions about the role, you can email Dan Derricott, Student Engagement Officer: dderricott@lincoln.ac.uk
