IRONMAN Internships 2018

IRONMAN have paid internship vacancies in a number of areas during 2018 including:
– Operations
– Supply & Logistics
– Athlete Services

Successful candidates will work on at least six high profile IRONMAN events in various roles.

The period of the internship covers the whole of April to end of September full time, although there is room for flexibility with university end and start dates. Some part time orientation days are required before the summer but these can also be flexible.

Candidates must be available for all of the events listed below:

Gym & Sports Facility Assistants, The Priory Pembroke Academy

The Priory Pembroke Academy in Cherry Willingham are looking to appoint two Gym and Sports Facility Assistants to work at the school with responsibilities that will include operating the football centre, gym and sports lettings. They are looking for committed and enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for sport and fitness.

Applicants should be over 18 years of age with some sports or fitness experience and ideally a level 2 gym instructor qualification. Working times will vary across the year with many of the weekly hours being evenings and at the weekend.

Coaches Sought by Lincoln City FC SET (Paid & Volunteer Roles)

Lincoln City FC Sport & Education Trust are seeking a number of sessional coaches to work in some of the different Football Development sessions that we run through the week at their Football Development Centres.These sessions include, Mini Kickers, Goalkeeper training, Football Development Centres and the Advanced Development Centre. It is important that coaches applying for these positions are living in the Lincoln area throughout the Academic year. They currently have sessions that run Tuesday, Thursday & Friday Evenings and Saturday Mornings and will consider candidates who can work one or more of these days.

Ideally they are looking for FA Level 2 qualified Coaches but will consider FA Level 1 Qualified candidates if they have suitable previous experience and demonstrate a good level of coaching knowledge through the recruitment process. Coaches will be paid £10 p/h for the work they do at the Centres, who will provide a curriculum and session structure for all coaches to follow and deliver as part of their Long Term Development Model.

They are also happy to welcome volunteers as Assistant Coaches, who don’t currently meet the recruitment criteria for the above positions but would like to gain experience in a professional coaching environment.

UOL Football Futures Student Management Team (Multiple roles)

The University Community Football Hub (a partnership between Lincolnshire FA, the University of Lincoln Students’ Union, and BUCS) are currently recruiting for 7 voluntary positions on the UOL Football Futures Student Management Team. Football Futures is the FA’s initiative for Young Leadership and Volunteering. University Community Football Hubs aim to empower universities to increase the number and quality of playing opportunities for young people in their local community and in turn enhance the student experience, add value to students’ education, raise the profile of the university and improve student recruitment and retention.

Event Volunteers, Positive Futures

Positive Futures deliver three mass participation events throughout the year varying in focus from consultation to football competition to multi-sport festival, and the Positive Futures team need support in all areas of these events. These are held at central venues around the county that vary year to year. If any volunteers are interested in attending transport can be made available as and when requested. Lincolnshire County Council is a committed to supporting volunteers by offering out of pocket expenses.
