//The University Sports Centre will be running a UKCC Netball Level 1 course in April and May, as follows:
Dates: 26th April & 31st May. 9am – 6pm on both days.
Price: £150 (England Netball affiliated members) or £180 (Non-members).
Booking deadline: 9th March, 8pm

Sport Coaching Bursaries- DEADLINE 31st December
Coaches can apply for up to 50% of the National Governing Body Coach Education course costs, with a maximum of £75 for Level 1, £150 for Level 2, and £200 for Level 3 upwards.
Coaches can also apply for the full course costs of attending generic coach education courses (for example Sports Coach UK Equity in your Coaching, or Safeguarding and Protecting Children) run by Lincolnshire Sport.

Specialist Bursaries – DEADLINE 15th December
Women & Girls’ Coach Development Fund
Female coaches aged between 16 and 30 can receive 100% funding for Level 1 and 2 coaching courses. You need to be a member of the Lincolnshire Sport Coach & Instructor Network (which is free!) and agree to volunteer for ten hours during the year after your course.
Lincolnshire Sport Disability Development Fund
Coaches with a disability aged between 16 and 25 can receive 100% funding for Level 1 and 2 coaching courses. You need to be a member of the Lincolnshire Sport Coach & Instructor Network (which is free!) and agree to volunteer for ten hours during the year after your course.

Everyone who coaches should join the Lincolnshire Sport Coach & Instructor Network so that they hear about opportunities such as these. If you aren’t a member then join now. There’s no excuse not to!
//The University Sports Centre are looking at hosting an Ultimate Frisbee Level 1 course during February 2015. The course will cost between £80 and £90.

//The University Sports Centre are looking at hosting a Basketball Level 2 course during April and May 2015. The course will cost around £145, and involves 24 hours of taught course content.
Each candidate will need to complete a log-book as part of the assessment with a minimum of 2 coaching sessions and 2 games supervised by a level 2 coach or PE teacher. In addition to the log book the candidate will be assessed via a written examination on aspects of coaching, basketball skills and team play and will be assessed practically conducting a coaching session and coaching a game.
Candidates should have a good prior knowledge of basketball (preferably with some coaching experience) and be comfortable with the fundamental skills, structure of the game and basic team play.

Emergency First Aid in Sport (Weds 3rd December, 6.30pm – 8.30pm)
Safeguarding & Protecting Children (Weds 10th December, 6.30pm – 9.30pm)
Each course is £30 for anyone with Lincolnshire Coach and Instructor Network membership (which is free). But we also have one free place for a University sports student for each course: if you would be interested in one of those places, please contact Dan Bishop as soon as possible.
