Sports Leader Volunteer, Positive Futures

Positive Futures are looking for Sports Leaders to support their community sport delivery within local disadvantaged communities around the county. Areas of delivery are Boston, Gainsborough, Grantham, Boston, Lincoln North and South, Skegness and South Holland. Their sports sessions range from Dodgeball and football through to multi-sport and basketball. Lincolnshire County Council is a committed to supporting volunteers by offering out of pocket expenses.

Activities that the volunteer may be asked to assist with are:

Registering Young People
Completing Young Person Information
Supporting delivery of warm up
Delivery of main body of session
Cool down
Young person support
Motivation

Sports Fitness and Conditioning Ambassador (Volunteer)

The University of Lincoln Students’ Union is offering an excellent student volunteer opportunity for an exercise professional who is passionate, driven and enthusiastic to deliver these Sports fitness and conditioning sessions, which will be a part of the Social Sport Sessions.

This person would need to be able to deliver a fun, safe and structured dynamic Gym Sports Fitness and Conditioning class that will take place in the University of Lincoln Sports Centre Fitness Suite. The session will be focused at meeting the needs of BUCS teams and their members that are wishing to increase and improve their personal fitness levels and to motive students to become and stay active.

You will be supplied with an Akuma Hoodie, alongside ongoing support from the School of Sport and Exercise Science, The University of Lincoln Students’ Union and Sport Lincoln to make these sessions a success.

Starting Date Thursday 5th October 2017 (10 weeks)

Required Availability Thursday Evenings 9:00pm-10:00pm (05/10/17 – 07/12/17)

Essential Gym Instructor/REPs/CIMSPA Qualification at level 2/level 3; Understanding of safe gym and exercise practice application; Experience within a gym setting and delivering group exercise classes

Part-Time Coaching Positions at VIRSCO in Lincoln

VIRSCO are recruiting part-time coaches and have sent us the following description:

Part Time Lead Coach position:

The role will be leading and running of physical education lessons and after school clubs. You will be required to lead coaching sessions, set up and clear away after every session, making sure that the area is safe and ready for the sessions to flow and run smoothly. As a Lead coach you will make session plans for each of the sessions you are running, make sure that you are there on time and deliver quality sessions for the children in each of the schools. As a coach you will have excellent behaviour management skills and make sure the sessions are flowing and all the children are engaged in the activities.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals, who will bring their sporting attributes and knowledge and help guide children through their physical education and extracurricular activities.

We are looking for level 1 and 2 coaches in any sport. We are looking for someone with their own transport

SPOTS: Science Practitioner of Team Sports roles with Lincoln SU

The School have partnered with the SU to offer the chance for our students to work with University sports teams in a sports scientist capacity. The SPOTS practitioners will plan and deliver weekly sport science specific activities with a select sports team, which could be filming weekly matches and providing match analysis feedback, running sport specific fitness sessions during the clubs training session, technique analysis, psychology sessions etc.

Thirteen SPOTS positions are available this year and successful applicants will receive mentoring from Sandy Willmott and support from the SU (including a £100 bursary per term).
