Project Officer, Lincoln College (deadline: 10th August)

The Project Officer will be based at Lincoln College and the Lincolnshire Sport office in Ingham, and their role will be to deliver the Lincoln College Athletic Union Project by designing, developing and delivering a programme to increase student participation in Sport and Physical Activity. The project is funded by Sport England. The successful candidate will need outstanding organisational skills and be able to communicate with all partners working on the college site and in the network.

Duration: 2 year contract

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £14,000

Undergraduate Mentors for Year 11 Students (Deadline: 20th July)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for University of Lincoln undergraduate students who are interested in a future career in teaching and/or in gaining work experience with young people. The School of Education are looking to employ 50 undergraduates, for one academic year, who are able to work for an hour a week as 1-2-1 mentors for Year 11 students in local secondary schools. The mentoring is part of an innovative project aimed at pairing undergraduates with Year 11 students to tutor and support them during their final year of studying the sciences at GCSE.

As a prospective mentor you would need to be a good communicator, a keen listener and be able to teach the science subject content at GCSE level. This position is suitable for an undergraduate who will be embarking on their second/third year in the academic year 2015 to 2016.

Salary: £8 per hour plus expenses

Kings Foundation Graduate Programme (Deadline: 31st July)

Kings Foundation are an international charity “working to help children reach their potential through sport”. They are offering the opportunity for young people to be part of their graduate programme, with four vacancies for their October 2015 to August 2016 programme.

They provide activity camps for children (Kings Camps), employment opportunities for young people (Kings Recruit), professional services to the leisure industry (Kings Active) and training and resources for volunteers (Kings Volunteer).  As a non-profit organisation dedicated to the development of children and young people, they have worked with and provided opportunities for thousands of young people since 1991.

The graduate programme offers office-based work in aspects of Sports, Leisure and Childcare Management at their head office in Sheffield, UK.  It provides young people with the opportunity for work experience and development within a professional environment.  The graduate role will include experience in Recruitment, Sales & Marketing, Operational Delivery, Finance & Accounts, Procurement and Programme Delivery.

A number of graduates from the School of Sport & Exercise Science have been employed by the Kings Foundation over the last few years.
